Romans 8:31-39

Introduction

Welcome to Mission Hills. Whether you're joining us online or in person, we're so glad to have you with us today. We're wrapping up our Fresh Wind series today. For the last several weeks, we've been working our way through Romans 8, unpacking the simple but powerful truth that following Jesus isn't about rowing hard, it's about raising sails to catch the fresh wind of God's Spirit.

Because when we say yes to following Jesus, several things happen. Our sins are forgiven. We are adopted as God's children. And, the Holy Spirit, who is both the person and the power of God, comes into our lives and begins to do something no other religion can. To be the kind of people that, if we could see ourselves now as we will be, we would think ''there's no way...that can't possibly be me.'' But as a follower of Jesus, it will be. That's what the Holy Spirit is doing in our lives...turning us into men and women who are - to use God's word - glorious.

So if you want to grab a bible and start making your way to Romans 8, we'll be starting in verse 31 today. And Paul starts right off the bat with the first of these six important questions:
