Please open your bibles to Mark 10. A little boy loved collecting marbles. Right next door to him lived a little girl who had a lot of candy. One day the little girl said to the little boy, ''If you'll give me ALL of your marbles, I'll give you ALL of my candy.'' He told her that he'd think about it. The next day, the little boy snuck a few of the marbles out of his collection and hid them in his room. Then he went next door and offered the little girl what appeared to be all his marbles for all her candy. But that night, he couldn't sleep. He was restless. He was bothered and troubled. You know what was troubling thought that bothered him all night? He kept thinking: ''Did she really give me ALL of her candy?'' Ha-ha. That little guy had a problem, didn't he? He wanted to have it all.

Today, we study an encounter Jesus had with a man who was a lot like that little boy. We're going to find out in a moment, he almost had it all. But the problem was what he didn't have was what he needed the most. Even he knew there was something missing in his life even though by every human standard he appeared to have it all. If you were here last week, you might remember we're in a section of Scripture where Jesus is teaching on the all-important subject of how to receive and enter the Kingdom of God. He's not talking about heaven; He's talking about salvation. The kingdom of God isn't just a place you get to eventually; it's a relationship you receive right now, and it lasts for eternity. Jesus brought the Kingdom of God to us now and it will extend into heaven forever. So when Jesus talks about entering or receiving the Kingdom of God He's talking entering and growing in a relationship with Almighty God. He's talking about being born again.
