If you brought your bibles, and I hope that you did, open them up to Mark chapter 7. Today, we are going to look at and talk about the day Jesus sighed. Now, we've heard a lot about, studied a lot about, understand a lot about the day Jesus died. But do you know very much about the day Jesus sighed? Some of you are looking at me like I have four horns or something. Well, you will after today. The day Jesus sighed.

I have been, now, in ministry for over 20 years. I'm in my 23rd year of being a lead pastor, and so when you're in ministry and you serve people for over 20 years, you find that, you look back, and you realize, you have done some very crazy things. I have done some exceptionally crazy things. For instance, like the time I served Dr. Pepper instead of grape juice during the Lord's Supper at a wedding. It's a long story, but let's just say, I was being resourceful.

Or like the time, my very first year of ministry, I walked up to the pulpit like I always do, and I opened up my bible, and I was looking for my notes, and my notes weren't there. Now, I was in my very first year of preaching, and so I panicked. So I did what every humble pastor would do - I very reverently said, ''Folks, the singing was amazing today, and I really believe the Lord wants us to sing one more song.'' And so while they sang the song, I searched for my sermon. And after they'd heard it, I'm sure some of them wished I hadn't found it.

Or like the time I baptized an elderly woman who wore a wig. You already beat me there, right? When I brought her up, she came out of the water, but her hair didn't. The congregation gasped, I again, panicked. I am mortified. And I'm thinking, seminary did not teach me to be ready for this. What in the world am I supposed to do? I'm looking at her, I'm looking at her hair, I'm looking at her, I'm looking at her hair, and I'm thinking, what in the world sh ...
