Mark 2:18-22
All right, well open up your bibles to Mark chapter 2, here in a moment we're going to be reading verses 18-22. A few years ago, Jana and I were out on a walk in our neighborhood, and lo, and behold, right there in front of us was a 20-dollar bill. It was like manna from heaven. And it was laying there, so I excitedly bent down and picked it up, and was dreaming of all the things our newfound fortune could buy. And yeah, Taco Bell, all kinds of good stuff. We did s'mores and everything. It was a bonfire, we said, ''You're not going to trick us anymore, we're so disgusted with money, we're not going to be deceived by you, we're done with it.'' Do you believe that? Of course you don't believe that.
You're not disillusioned by counterfeits so much that you'll burn up your money. That'd be stupid. And yet, how many people, I have met for sure, maybe you have met, who have gotten disillusioned and disgusted with a church or a pastor or maybe some other ''Christians'' in their job, or maybe their prayer life and a prayer wasn't answered just like they thought they ...
