Revelation 19
Prelude
Opening Scripture
Praise the Lord!?Praise God in his sanctuary;? praise him in his mighty heavens!?Praise him for his mighty deeds;? praise him according to his excellent greatness!
Praise him with trumpet sound;? praise him with lute and harp!?Praise him with tambourine and dance;? praise him with strings and pipe!?Praise him with sounding cymbals;? praise him with loud clashing cymbals!?Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!?Praise the Lord!
Brothers, sisters, and guests, we gather in tears, in personal loss and sadness, but also in worship to remember Ruth Anne Shorter, the great servant and daughter of God. We thank God for her and thank God for all God did through her. But above all, like the Israelites mourning the loss of Moses, we gather to worship God in recognition of the promised inheritance He has for His people. This day we may confidently say that our sister Ruth Anne is enjoying the inheritance face to face with her Lord, Jesus Christ! And so while we mourn our loss, we have gathered to worship God.
Prayer
Let us pray.
Almighty God, with whom do live the spirits of Your children, those saints in Christ Jesus, our Lord, with whom the souls of the faithful, after they are delivered from the burden of the flesh, live with you in joy and happiness; We give You thanks, O God, for Your child, Mr. Dick Browne. We thank You that having finished his course of faith, having sought You, O Lord, having been covered by the blood of Your Son, Jesus Christ, now he rests in Heaven. We ask You this day, our Heavenly Father, that we, with those who have already departed in the true faith of Your Holy Name, may have our perfect consummation and bliss, both in body and soul, in your eternal and everlasting glory; Though Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
