Ephesians 6:10-18
One of my favorite WW2 movies was entitled, ''To Hell and Back.'' It was the list story of Audie Murphy. There is a scene in that movie where Audie and troups crawl up on a tank for protection and transport and the tank driver says, ''Don't feel to safe, the armor is only 1'' thick.'' A foot soldier pointing to shirt ''how thick is this?'' Fabric is no match for bullets.
Today, More LEOs wear bullet resistant vests and fireman have turn out gear which is fire resistant clothes. This is the uniform for these folk.
As I said last week, Paul was sitting by a foot soldier. The Roman army had no other kind. Their warfare was hand to hand combat. Always having the risk of impalement by instrument of death.
Just a personal thought; since we KNOW we are in a battle (spiritual), why would we go into battle (the world) without being dressed for it? Prepare?
One of my great pleasures of being here - is that almost every week, someone tells me something that I said in a previous message. This means we are taking Christian life seriously and that we know we are standing against Gates of Hell. One reminder; Steve Green sang these Biblical words, ''He hold the keys''. US!

BELT OF TRUTH- Today the belt can be a fashion statement. Back then it was actually, ''functional.'' For me, it keeps my pants up (I've seen some who need it)
For the soldier, there were 3 primary functions of their belt;
1)held all of his weapons
2)tied up robe, so he wouldn't trip in battle
3)Ornamental display of medals, ribbons, ''heroism''/
The belt was the centerpiece of the uniform. It was eye catching.
