What to Do About Evil People
Richard Bradley
Ephesians 6:10-13
I almost titled this sermon, ''What to do about evil men.'' But that didn't seem quite right and it's not just because of today's social climate. After all, there are likely just as many evil women in our world as men. Evil is what it is, wherever you find it, and in whomever you find it. And, by the way, only God gets to decide who and what is evil. The Word of God is an excellent resource for knowing what God thinks on this subject. It's high time for God's people to start recognizing evil when they see it and call it out for what it is!
Being able to recognize evil when we see it is necessary. Once we recognize evil we believers have two choices. We can either live at ease with evil - live and let live - or we can fight against it. Knowing evil for what it is and being willing to fight against it are two very different matters. Perhaps you're thinking, ''Look at me, how can I possibly fight against evil during these days of the great falling away?''
I'm glad you asked that question. Today's text will give us some great ideas about dealing with the representatives of the evil one.
Ephesians 6:10-13
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
AS GOD'S PEOPLE WE MUST RECOGNIZE OUR TRUE ADVERSARY
12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
