The 2017 Super Bowl (recap video playing in the background) was played between the New England Patriots and the Atlanta Falcons. You may remember-with just a few minutes left in the third quarter, the Patriots were getting blown out by 25 points.
My brother-in-law lives in Atlanta and is a huge Falcons fan. I'll never forget how happy he was in the third quarter. His Super Bowl party had already become a victory party! ...and rightfully so... after all, they were making the Patriots look silly the entire game.
They were being humiliated on the world's largest stage... but their response in the midst of that setback was amazing to watch.
You see... they could have quit and simply settled for having won many Super Bowls in the past, but quitting was the last thing on their minds.
How many of you know what it's like to face setbacks?
For some teams-setbacks are basically setups for FAILURE... but the Patriots decided in that game... that setbacks are setups for comebacks. They understood that... just because you're DOWN doesn't mean you're OUT.
This wasn't a team that was going to quit just because they faced difficulties along the way. In fact, in approximately 20 minutes of game time, the Patriots miraculously came back and defeated the Falcons in overtime, 34-28. It was the greatest comeback in Super Bowl history!
Does anybody here know what it's like to face opposition?
We all do, right!? 2020 seemed like an entire year of setbacks.
