Misplaced Glory (4 of 26)
Series: How the Church ACTS
Jordan Easley
Acts 12:19-24
A few weeks ago, we dove back in to one of my favorite books of the Bible and are now in a series of messages entitled, ''How the Church ACTS.'' This book... believe it or not... really does give us great insight on what we should do, how we should live and how we should act... and we're going to be unpacking some of that today.

It was his leadership that led to James being murdered and Peter being imprisoned... But when Peter was locked up, the church was praying.
They were begging God to set Peter free.
And despite Herod's extreme efforts to keep Peter in bondage, God chose to respond to the prayers of his people and set Peter free... again.
He sent an angel to bust him out of jail, and even though there were guards everywhere-Peter walked out of that jail cell a free man completely unnoticed!
Don't forget what we saw last week... The world can't keep you in chains if God sets you free! Herod tried to keep Peter locked up, but God set him free!
And when he did, [v. 18] says, ''18 At daylight, there was a great commotion among the soldiers as to what had become of Peter.'' They were freaking out, because they knew what was coming next... ''19 After Herod had searched and did not find him, he interrogated the guards and ordered their execution.''
Herod was furious, and executed many of his top guards because they let Peter get away... And that's where we're picking up in this story today:
[v. 19b-20] Then Herod went down from Judea to Caesarea and stayed t ...
