Intro/Attention
As we go through our series ''Characters of Christmas,'' we've been looking at Mary, Joseph, and Jesus. Today we see the story of the wise men. The Wise Men show us that Jesus is for everyone and that He alone is worthy.
As a boy growing up in Texas (you can thank Texas for Buc-ee's by the way - we finally have some real BBQ here in Middle Georgia!), there was one Christmas I'll never forget. My dad, a pastor, was always looking for ways to be a witness for Christ in our neighborhood. On this particular Christmas season, he had taken a couple of fence boards, a few nails, and a bunch of lights and made a cross that lit up at night. Our house sat on a hill and night after night the cross shined bright to all who passed by.
This cross was wonderful and everything was going great until one day we noticed the cross wasn't shining anymore. The lights were all out. Inspecting the cross, we were shocked to find that the power cord had been cut! Someone had come into our yard and cut the cord for the lights. Well, being the great dad he was, my dad quickly spliced the cable and fixed the lights. Not too long after that, we found that the cable had been cut again! He spliced it again. We called the police and they came out. My mother left a note by the cross that said:

You are breaking the law. This is your warning. We are praying for you.'' Don't mess with a Texas preacher's wife. And don't mess with my mother. I can be a witness to that!
At the same time the cord was being cut, there was a man who lived nearby who was active in the occult. He approached my dad and there was great spiritual warfare going on. My dad shared the Gospel with him and ...
