1 Corinthians 15:17
''For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that He appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve. After that, He appeared to more than 500 of the brothers at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. Then He appeared to James, then to all the apostles, and last of all He appeared to me also.'' 1 Corinthians 15:3-7
(Written by the Apostle Paul around AD 55, about the same time Mark was written)
DENYING HIS DEATH, BURIAL AND RESURRECTION
''For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.'' 1 Corinthians 1:18
(The death, burial and resurrection are at the center of Christianity. 1 Corinthians 15:17.
Gerald O'Collins said, without the resurrection there is no Christianity)
Did Jesus really DIE on the cross?
''Joseph of Arimathea, a prominent member of the Council, who was himself waiting for the kingdom of God, went boldly to Pilate and asked for Jesus' body. Pilate was surprised to hear that he was already dead. Summoning the centurion, he asked him if Jesus had already died. When he learned from the centurion that it was so, he gave the body to Joseph. So Joseph bought some linen cloth, took down the body, wrapped it in the linen, and placed it in a tomb cut out of rock. Then he rolled a stone against the entrance of the tomb. Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joses saw where he was laid. Mark 15:43-47
(Some say he just passed out and woke up, they have never studied Roman history. After the beating, which killed many before ever getting on the cross, it was the soldier in charges responsibility to make sure the criminal was dead, his own life was at stake)
