Christmas Hope (4 of 4)
Series: Hope Has a Name

Luke 2:1-20

(Welcome to our 21st annual Christmas Eve Service. It is our honor that you have chosen to come and worship with us. We have been going through a series of messages about Hope, How Hope has a name, and how Christmas introduced us to Real Hope. Tonight I want to share with you a brief message about Hope. When we use the word hope today it usually really means a wish, I Hope this happens, I hope I get a raise, I hope LSU beats Alabama :) I hope Pastor Spike doesn't talk about LSU :) but in the Bible the word HOPE has an entirely different meaning. The Word Hope instead of a wish means that we have a confidence in something but just havent' received it yet, it is tied to the words faith and trust. When I say I put my Hope in Jesus, it doesn't mean that I wish Jesus does what He says He will do, but that I have confidence, I have put my HOPE in Jesus to do what He said He will do...He is my HOPE, He is my salvation, Heaven is my ultimate home, etc. I haven't seen the total fruition of that yet but I know I will. This afternoon I want to share with you why you can put your complete trust and faith and hope in Jesus Christ...for Hope has a NAME Let's PRAY)

She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. And there were shepherds living out in the field ...
