When You Think You ''Have It All" (1 of 6)
Series: After God's Heart

1 Samuel 9:2
''Kish had a son named Saul, an impressive young man without equal among the Israelites--a head taller than any of the others.'' 1 Samuel 9:2 (NIV)
(I love sports, especially college sports, especially LSU college sports. I follow them regularly as you know. One of the things that has become popular and become a real money maker is the different websites, etc. that tell you how good a High School athlete is...they will give them stars* showing their talent level/potential for college. To be given a 5 star by these services is gold for a high school athlete. The problem is these services can only judge certain things, height, weight, speed, how they played in High School...but they can't judge the most important thing about a person. They can't judge a heart. Today we are going to start a new series entitled After God's Heart. We are going to look at the attributes of a person that God can use but today we are going to look at the danger of thinking you ''having it all'' but really ''having nothing'' in the end. Bottom line we are going to see how God looks at us, how He rates us, how important it is to strive to have God's Heart. Let's PRAY)
God has Chosen You
''Now the day before Saul came, the Lord had revealed this to Samuel His Prophet: 'About this time tomorrow I will send you a man from the land of Benjamin. Anoint him leader over my people Israel; he will deliver my people from the hand of the Philistines. I have looked upon my people, for their cry has reached me.''' 1 Samuel 9:15-16 (NIV)
(There are some who believe that God has chosen some to be saved and some to be doomed for destruction. There are some verses that seem to indicate that, but personally I think you have to discount much of scripture to believe that. Verses like ''Whosoever calls upon the Lord will be saved'' and ''Whoever believeth in me'' tell me all can be saved)
