Mark 12:28-31
''One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, 'Of all the commandments, which is the most important?'
'The most important one,' answered Jesus, 'is this: ''Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.'' The second is this: ''Love your neighbor as yourself.'' There is no commandment greater than these.''' Mark 12:28-31 (NIV)
Just as a reminder or as a catch up we have started a series studying together what Jesus called the most important commandment in the Bible. We know that the first part of the verse is what the Jews called the Shemah which in Hebrew means HEAR which is the first word of the verse. We know that this word means more than just hear, like did you hear a sound, but hear like did you hear and process this, understand it. Jesus said it was the most important commandment so my assumption is He wants us to hear it, process it, think on it and apply it to our lives. With that said, let's PRAY and then look at this 3rd part of the verse...Loving God with our Mind PRAY...
The first week we learned that loving God with all of our Heart is to love God with everything we have and that is what Worship is. The Word for Worship in Hebrew means to Bow Down, literally submit yourself to someone, acknowledge them as the Lord and Leader of your life.
