BELOW STANDARD

Two cows were grazing alongside a highway when a tank-truck of milk on its way to the distributor happened to pass. On one side of the truck in big red letters was a sign that read, "Pasteurized, homogenized, standardized, Vitamin A added." One cow turned to the other and remarked, "Makes you feel sort of inadequate, doesn’t it?"

Charlie Brown Feeling Inadequate

Charlie Brown frequently expresses feelings that many of us have. One emotion he often has is feelings of inadequacy. Consider this Peanuts comic: Charlie, Linus, and Lucy are walking to school and discussing their class work.

Lucy suddenly says “Oh no!!!”

Lucy, “This is show and tell day at school, isn’t it? I forgot to bring something.”

Lucy says to Linus “Did you remember that is was show and tell day, Linus?”

Linus replies “Yes, I have a couple of things here to show the class.”
Linus holds up some papers and says “These are copies I’ve been making of some of the Dead Sea Scrolls. See, this is a duplicate of a scroll of Isaiah chapter 38 – 40. It was made from seventeen pieces of sheepskin and was found in a cave by a shepherd.”

Linus holding up another paper says “Here I’ve made a copy of the earliest known fragment ever found. It is a portion of First Samuel 23: 9 -16; I’ll try to explain to the class how these manuscripts have influenced modern scholars.”

Lucy replies “Very interesting.”
