Curse of the Law

Galatians 3:10-14
Sin brings punishment. Adam and Eve were put out of the garden. Jacob never saw his mother again after stealing his brother's blessing. Achan was killed for stealing from the city of Jericho. God took David's son that was conceived out of adultery.
The law of God demands that we obey all of it, not just some of it. James 2:10 Whoever keeps the whole law but fails in one point has become accountable for all of it. God sees his law as a unit, so that if you break any of his laws you are guilty of breaking the whole law. In other words, in the sight of God you are either innocent or guilty of keeping his law.
What commandments have you broken so that you stand guilty before God? Putting something before God? Stealing? Lying? Cheating? Lusting over something someone else owns?
Romans 3:23 All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Everyone is guilty of breaking the law of God and not bringing honor to him therefore; we are under his punishment for our sins. John Calvin - ''There is no righteousness where there is sin, until Christ removes the curse.''
SAVED BY FAITH :10-12 Paul said in :9 those who have faith are blessed because God gives them righteousness they could never receive on their own. Now he is going to contrast the spiritual blessing with the physical curse which comes on us when we don't keep the law of God.
Law brings curse :10 Rely (KJB are of, Williams depend on, Philipps trying to keep) - they believe that in trying to keep the law they will be accepted by God for their sincerity. This is what the Pharisees believed as they tried to keep the smallest detail of the law by tithing even the vegetables they grew in their gardens and carefully washing the dishes so they were clean (Matthew 23:23-24).
The law demands complete and total obedience in everything. Deut. 27:26 If we don't obey the law we are under God's curse. Curse - Heb. under judgment because you have broken ...
