Romans 4:1-12

Open your bibles to Romans 4. One of my all-time favorite stories is about the farmer who was helping one of his cows give birth, and he had the calf about halfway out of the mother cow when he noticed his four-year-old son at the fence soaking in the whole event. V12: 'There is none who do good, no, not one.' Then Paul summarizes our hopeless condition in Romans 3:23: For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

God doesn't compare us to one another and save those who are the best of the lot. God compares us to Himself and says, 'You all fall short. You are all wicked. You are all ...
