Intro/Attention

Tonight, our study through the Book of Revelation takes us to Revelation 8 and 9. There is a scarlet thread, red with redemption running through the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. The Bible is about Jesus, and the Book of Revelation confirms that He will come again as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. The trumpet will sound and we will rise to meet Him. But on earth, the Great Tribulation will unfold. As we've been studying, the riders of the night sky have begun their trek to Armageddon, as the seals are opened and one judgment after another comes. There is death, disease, and disaster on earth. But the worst is yet to come. The Tribulation is not over. There we'll be more cataclysmic events in and on earth: hail and fire, a burning mountain, and seas of blood. If that were not enough, the ''blacklist,'' if you will-the most horrendous demonic forces imaginable-will be unleashed upon the earth.

*There's a popular television show entitled The Blacklist. In this show, Raymond Reddington is number one on the FBI's most wanted list. He makes a deal with the FBI to secure his own freedom. He has a list of the worst criminals across the globe-he calls it The Blacklist-and he will help the FBI hunt down and capture these criminals as long as he remains free.*

Imagine if all the world's prisons were opened today and the worst criminals on the planet were released. Terrorists and murders, thieves and drug dealers would be free to wreak havoc. God tells us in Revelation 8 and 9 that it's going to happen just like that. You might say that the Book of Revelation is rated ''R'' for violence. It's not for the faint of heart.

We've all cried out for justice in this life, wondering when God will finally make things right. We wonder when the suffering, the wars, the murders, and the hatred will end. That day is coming with these final judgments in the Tribulation. READ 8: ...
