Intro/Attention

It's been quite awhile since we've been in our verse-by-verse study through the Book of Revelation. Tonight, in our nineteenth message in this series, we come to Revelation 11. Let me remind you of what's been happening to bring you up to speed.

I have provided a chart on the back of your note sheet that helps remind you of the major outline of the book of Revelation. There are three major sections as outlined in Revelation 1:19: 1) Past things are referred to as ''the things that you have seen...'' This represents Revelation 1. 2) Present things are referred to as ''those [things] that are...'' This is the ''church age'' recorded in Revelation 2-3. We are still living in the church age today. 3) Prophetic things are referred to as ''those [things] that are to take place after this.'' This is the bulk of the book of Revelation and it comprises Revelation 4-22. This includes the ''seven seals...seven trumpets...seven bowls...and seven judgments'' that will one day come.

As we come to Revelation 11, we are in the midst of the ''seven trumpets.'' Revelation 11:15-19 reveals the ''seventh...trumpet'' that will lead us to a great battle between heaven and earth.

Today, from Revelation 11, we see a future temple, two faithful witnesses, and the seventh angel blowing his trumpet ushering in the ''kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ.'' Tonight, I'm preaching on this sermon subject, Who are the Two Witnesses? READ TEXT
