Exodus 31:13-15
Exodus 31:13-15- ''Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the LORD that doth sanctify you. (14) Ye shall keep the sabbath; therefore, for it is holy unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people. (15) Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD: whosoever doeth any work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death.''
We have seen the different names of God and what they each mean. Let's look at them in review.
Elohim - God's Personality
El Elyon - God's Position
El Roi - God's Perception
El Olan - God's Permanence
El Shaddai - God's Power
Adonai - God's Preeminence
Jehovah - God's Perfection
Jehovah-Jireh - God's Provision
Jehovah-Rophi - God the Physician
Jehovah-Nissi - God's Proclamation
Jehovah-M'Kaddesh - God's Purity
The Lord is speaking to Moses so that he can share the message with the people of Israel of God's perfect plan for their lives.
There are some who need God to do a work in your life in terms of your personal purity. There are some of you who are discouraged because of past mistakes that you have made. Perhaps you are dis appointed with your life presently as you fail to live up to the standards that God has set forth in His Word for your life.
The question is: ''Is there really any hope for me?'' The answer is ''YES!''
We are living in a day and time when we must have purity return back to our lives. To have purity of mind - purity of mouth - purity of motive as we serve a God who will purify our lives.
