I. Introduction
Welcome to all of our campuses. I'm so glad you're here today because I believe God has something very important to say to you today. I know it's something that has affected me profoundly over the last couple of weeks as I've been studying for this message and I'm really excited to share it with you today.
We're in this series called Mission Killers where we're looking at the things that try to take us off mission with Jesus. Because the moment we say yes to following Jesus, we say yes to joining him on mission. He said ''follow me and I will make you fishers of men.'' But the moment we join Jesus on mission in the world, the world starts sending mission killers our way, T-1000 Terminators designed to take us off mission.
And we've already talked about several of these mission killers.
Today we're going to talk about a mission killer I'm going to call the Deeper Deception. The Deeper Deception is a strategy for taking us off mission with Jesus that says the Gospel isn't enough.''
And it's a lie. But it's a lie that is surprisingly easy to fall victim to.

In case you're just joining us, the angel of the church is a personification of the message the church has for the world. By writing to the angel of the church, Jesus is emphasizing the church's mission, which is what's threatened by whatever mission killer they were facing.
