Romans 8:31-34
On April 25, 1915, soldiers of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps landed on the Gallipoli peninsula, between Turkey and Greece, expecting a quick victory. But fierce resistance by the Turkish defenders resulted in an 8-month stalemate during which thousands on both sides were wounded or killed.
Many of the ANZAC troops who were evacuated to Egypt visited the YMCA camp outside Cairo where chaplain Oswald Chambers offered hospitality and hope to these men who were so broken and disillusioned by war. With great insight and compassion, he said,
''No man is the same after an agony; he is either better or worse, and the agony of a man's experience is nearly always the first thing that opens his mind to understand the need of redemption worked out by Jesus Christ. At the back of the wall of the world stands God with his arms outstretched and every man driven there is driven into the arms of God. The cross of Jesus is the supreme evidence of the love of God.''
Since God loves us so much, we should never doubt that he will give us everything we need as believers to be with him forever. There are times when we are going through difficulties, suffering and trials that we may doubt God is there with us. But Paul tells us that GOD IS FOR US no matter what we face in life.
GOD SUPPORTS US :31 What can we say about all that God has done for us (:30)? He called us to believe, he forgave us of our sins when we did believe and he is preparing us to be with him in heaven forever. Because of all that God has done it should cause us to realize that nothing happens to us which he does not allow for our benefit.
If - Gk. is a first-class condition which assumes something is true and therefore means since, instead of doubting something is true.
God - is the one who ''works all things together for good (:28)'' because he is sovereign. He has a purpose for our lives which is to make ...
