Matthew 6:24-33
Laying a foundation is important work because the quality of your foundation determines the quality of your work. I can give you the “for instances”, but you know well that danger exist when you lay the foundation is not firm. Today we are on the 4th in our core beliefs.
“We seek to honor God in our we do.” On Wednesday, I finished my study prep for today & kind of put this message to bed so I could meditate on it. Then on Thursday morning, I read Malachi 2. Has God ever reminded you of something (Malachi 2:1-2)? How startling?!?!
The very reason this is a foundational statement is that it is required to receive God’s favor. If we are to receive His blessing we must honor Him & His Name. (TEXT CALL)
You see our five statements on the screen. We are laying our “Foundations for the Future”. Today, is a challenging truth that some of us live & others ignore. Today, I call us to embrace & live by this truth: We seek to honor God in all we do. We need to hear this truth because IF WE do not hear, know, & embrace, this truth, then we miss the mark for the calling of God.
Think about the full scope of that statement in light of our scriptures today. The truth is, many people are okay with the first part (We seek to honor God), but the last part challenges us (in “ALL” we do). Just like last week where ‘all’ meant everyone, this week “ALL” means everything.
First: Does this describe your life? Yes? What if – God was standing here in front & was pointing us out, calling our name, and saying, “YES” or “NO” to this question, what would HE SAY? A day is coming when He may well do just this in ‘that’ day He will separate the “sheep” from the ‘goats’, saying, “Yes” or “No.” Again, if ‘that day’ was ‘today’, what would He say about YOU?!
