Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

I. Introduction: Welcome to week #2 of our Unselfie series. Last week we laid the foundation for this series by looking at what Jesus says in John 15:12: ''Love each other as I have loved you.'' And we saw that the kind of love Jesus is talking about here is a selfless love, a sacrificial love. And we said if you could take a picture that somehow captured the essence of this life that Jesus demonstrated for us and invites us to join him in, we would have to call that picture an Unselfie: taking the self out of the frame in order to put the focus on others.

And the first thing I want to do today is to address that feeling because I honestly believe that that feeling is one of the greatest obstacles to using our resources as God intended. See, when we feel like we don't have enough of something, what we naturally tend to do two things: #1 , we hoard it and #2, we start wishing we had more of it. And neither one of those will help us use our resources as God intended. ...
