Introduction
1. The book was written 2500 years ago by a Chinese military strategist named sun tsu. Today, the department of the united states army lists this book as one that should be kept at every military unit's library. It is listed on the marine corp professional reading program and is recommended reading for all united states military intelligence personnel. Bill belichick, perhaps the greatest nfl coach in history, has read this book and uses its lessons to gain insights in preparing for games. It is the ''go to'' book for military commanders and strategists around the world. The title is the art of war and is still considered the greatest book ever written on the art of fighting and winning a war.
2. Unless you have been or you are in the military you may think that is good information but of no value to you. Yet, the theme of the book, how to fight and win a war is relevant to all of us, because we are all in a war. When I say all of us, I mean every person on planet earth. Every morning we wake up at war. It is an invisible war. It is an unseen war that has visible consequences we can see every day. It is the war between light and darkness, good and evil, heaven and hell, god and Satan, Christ and anti-Christ, the church and the world.
3. Have you ever wondered why life is so hard? Why it is such a struggle? Why there is so much suffering, pain, and agony in the world? Have you ever wondered why it is sometimes so hard to maintain a good marriage? Raise good children? Please your boss? Get your act together financially?
