''Staying Faithful when you lose everything''

And they lived happily ever after...

We live in a day where most of us believe, that bad people deserve pain and good people deserve blessings. For some reason we believe that those who are obedient to God and love God and have a relationship with God-should somehow be exempt from experiencing suffering or sorrow or unexpected loss.

And I wonder if we believe that today... because we've been conditioned to believe that since the time we were born.

- The good guy wins, the bad guy loses.
- If I behave the right way, I'll experience the best results.
- If I love God and do the things God tells me to do, He will protect me from pain and prevent me from experiencing hardships in this life...

You know what that is? It's a 'fairy tale worldview.' It's a perspective that looks at the world and says, ''If we follow the right formula and do the right things... we can live happily ever after.''

Did you know that most of the fairy tales and classic stories that we know... didn't originally end with a happy ending?

For instance, in the movie Cinderella, we know she endured persecution from her stepmother and stepsisters, but in the end, the glass slipper fit, and she ends up marrying the prince...

But did you know in the oldest version of that story, Cinderella actually killed her first stepmother so that her father would marry the housekeeper instead. She wasn't just a beautiful girl with a pretty blue dress and glass slippers that fit perfectly... she was a sinister murderer that took matters into her own hands.

Or how about The Little Mermaid? Do you know that story? We love Disney's version because Ariel and her crab-friend Sebastian overcome the wicked Sea Witch and then Ariel swims off to marry the man of her dreams.
