Not many people know the name of Chuck Feeney... and he would probably like to keep it that way. Chuck Feeney, who is now 89 years old... is an American entrepreneur who became a billionaire through a company he co-founded called, Duty Free Shoppers.
His story is pretty amazing to me, because Feeney has made over 8 billion dollars in his career, and yet, when he travels, he flies economy and stays in budget hotels. To this day, he wears a $15 plastic watch and possesses no property at all-in fact, he and his wife live in a small rented apartment in San Francisco to this day.
Many years ago, Chuck Feeney said his goal is to be remembered as the billionaire who died broke. In fact, he summarized his mission with these two sentences: ''I see little reason to delay giving when so much good can be achieved through supporting worthwhile causes. Besides, it's a lot more fun to give while you live than give while you're dead.''
Feeney not only talked about giving-that's exactly what he's done. He made 8 billion dollars, and he's now given 8 billion dollars away.
You know, there are several examples of people who HAD much and GAVE much, but it's not very often, you hear a story of someone giving EVERYTHING they had to give.
But there's one story in the Bible where a young man did just that. This story is actually recorded in all four gospels. Matthew. Mark. Luke and John.
There are only two miracles that are recorded in all four gospels...
Those two miracles are: The resurrection of Jesus... and the miracle we're talking about today... which is, The feeding of the 5,000.
