*How many of you got some kind of speech when you were growing up from your parents that went something like this: you need to eat all of your food because there are people in Africa who don't have food to eat; or, you better clean your room because there are people in other places who don't even have their own bedroom; or maybe, you better be thankful for the car we let you drive when you're sixteen with the paint chipping off the back because there are other kids who don't have anything to...oh wait, maybe that was just me!* I think all of us have been on at least one side of this conversation. We're either the one being told to be thankful or the one telling someone to be thankful! *Let's practice it. I mean, it's Thanksgiving season here and I think we need to get in the mood. Everyone say, ''thank you.'' Oh, come on...say it like you mean it! ''Thank you!'' Now, look at the person next to you and say it. You're welcome!* If we're going to be a thankful person that others are thankful for, we need to live a life of thankfulness. We need to be thankful for what we have. In other words, thank god everyday for Who He is and what He's done for you. *I've found in my life that often it's the blessings of God that I've allowed to become my source of complaint. For instance, one of my biggest complaints in life is traffic! I hate traffic! But if I didn't have the blessing of a car, I'd never have to worry about traffic now would I! The common one these days is gas prices. Good gracious for a while there you almost had to take out a loan to fill your tank. But what if you didn't have a tank to fill? Then you wouldn't have to complain about gas prices. Or some people complain about their spouse or their children but what would life be like without those blessings? We all like to complain about taxes for sure...but what if we didn't make any money...then we wouldn't have t ...
