Generosity (3 of 3)
Series: Give Thanks
Jim Perdue
1 Timothy 6:17-19

This morning, we conclude our three-week sermon series entitled Give Thanks. I based this series on a simple theory. We are not appropriately generous because we are not appropriately grateful. And we're not appropriately grateful because we have a small view of grace.

So, for three weeks we've been in this series we've talked about these three things: grace, gratitude, and today we'll talk about Generosity. I'm going to ask you today to give generously to the work that God has called us to. To give sacrificially and to give lavishly.

I believe today could be an historic day in the life of our church. It very well could be the day when we pay off our debt on the buildings and property across the street. At the end of this service today I'm going to ask you to give...generously.

We need to give more than the church needs to receive.

So, I'm going to try to build a case for generosity. Not based on a preacher beating you over the head with Malachi 3, which I believe and affirm, but based on our understanding of God's grace and our gratitude as a result.

Today, we talk about Generosity from 1 Timothy 1:16-19. Paul gives instructions to Timothy about how to deal with money, wealth, possessions, and greed. READ TEXT
