Big Idea: Your story brings curiosity. His story brings change.

Intro: 60th Anniversary A couple months ago, we celebrated my grandparent's 60th wedding anniversary. That's a lot! It was so cool to see the letters, cards, and pictures people sent to honor them on quite a milestone. The things people wrote provided a picture of what has guided my grandparents to stay faithful to each other for 60 years.

It had me thinking. If we're able to make it to 60 years (barring any tragic event), what would I like people to write to Jenny and me?

Let's make it personal. What would you like people to line up at the end of your life to thank you for? It's a good question to ask and the right question to ask It may sound arrogant. It's really not. It's a responsible question to ask. It provides you an opportunity to adjust your true north.

Without a true north, it will be hard for people to thank us for anything when we're lost. A true north can provide a legacy.

This series is a helpful reminder of the why our engagement in the local church matters.

Tension: Would you believe me if I told you that you are a manager of extraordinary influence and unprecedented opportunity? This is true for all of us. All of us are managers of extraordinary influence and unprecedented opportunity.

Think of influence: Unless you live by yourself on a island, you have a circle of influence...well, I'm sure there are some who would want to be that person There are people who want to be around you-for whatever reason There are people who want to copy you-for whatever reason There are people who like you-for whatever reason
