Big Idea: Love makes you respond to other people but not for other people.

Intro: Love can be a word that is overused and meaningless without much thought. It sounds great to tell someone you love them. However, there will come a time where that love is tested. People will either stay and love it out or they will simply ''ghost out.'' It could be the emotional discomfort or the unwillingness to admit wrongdoing that gives people the excuse to ghost out. Love requires communication. So, when there's no communication, something is still being communicated.

Ghosting is the term used when you have someone that you believe cares about you disappear from contact without any explanation at all.

Tension: Nothing feels good about experiencing slow fade or ghosting by the person you like, love, and/or care about. Being ghosted can be unbearable.

Those who slow fade and ghost really miss out on the affect it has on those being slow faded and ghosted: Social rejection activates the same pain in the brain as physical pain Impacts self-worth Can lead to depression if multiple offender Healing takes time Not sure how to react to ambiguity Not having a way to know renders them powerless Not sure how to react to the occasional texts/emails Play detective by piecing together the mystery of why they were ghosted Question themselves Am I too needy? Did I do something wrong? Is my radar broken? Am I unloveable? Feeling like they're being held hostage...can't move forward with the ambiguity

We can be left wanting one of two outcomes: Revenge Even the score...them to feel what you felt There's no extension of forgiveness Peace (to move on) Move forward with pain and without answers Willing to extend forgiveness

But does it make sense to try and catch a ghost, who obviously doesn't want to be found, for either revenge or peace to move on?
