Big Idea: Jesus got angry when religion valued being right over doing right. Following Jesus takes away our right to being right.

Intro: Versions of Jesus: ''Crucifix'' Jesus. As far back as I can remember, I remember going to church on Sundays for mass and class. ''Door Knocker'' Jesus. I was told at the church my parents took me to that Jesus was knocking on heart to come in. ''Jim Caviezel'' Jesus. Passion of the Christ Jesus, which in my opinion was the first accurate attempt at portraying Jesus, and it gave me a visual to who He was and what He did for me.

Even with the best of imaginations, we'd all be wrong.

Do you ever think of Jesus being angry or acting out of anger? In the versions that I mentioned, I didn't see Jesus being angry or acting out of anger.

Did you know that Jesus got angry? His anger looked a lot different than our anger.

Our anger is usually directed at other people when we don't get our way. When we don't get our way, we tell people to get out the way.

Truth: Jesus got angry for different reasons. [Jesus got angry when religion got in the way of His message not when He didn't get His way.]
