Mockery (3 of 3)
Series: Toxic
Craig Smith
James 3:5-10
Introduction
Welcome to Mission Hills. I don't know if you know it, but this is a very historic weekend, because, for the first time in history, we are gathered as a church in three very different ways:
First, we've got people gathering on our campuses. Our Littleton and en Espanol campuses are finally open for in-person gatherings this weekend. Little fun fact: it was actually this very weekend exactly 10 years ago the Littleton campus opened for the very first time ever. When we set the reopening date for this weekend we had not connected those dots, but that's a pretty cool thing that I believe God orchestrated. By the way...[ask people who got a seat to hold off rsvp'ing for next weekend's services so that others who didn't get a seat this week have a chance.]
Second, we've got people gathering online. Many weekends we have people joining us from all 50 of the United States and from 20 or more countries. So if you're joining us online from somewhere in the world, wherever you are at this moment, welcome...we're so glad to have you with us.
And, finally, third, we've got people gathering in Mission Hills at Home Watch Parties, watching the service with a small number of other people in someone's house, and that's awesome. God has called us to be one church in many locations and there's no reason why one of those locations can't be in someone's home. So let me extend a special welcome to all the Mission Hills at Home groups joining us today.
However you're joining us, it's so good to have you with us this weekend. If this is your first time with us, you should know that today is the last week of our Toxic series. For the last few weeks, we've been taking a look at what God has to say in the book of Proverbs about several kinds of toxic talk that we all struggle with.
And let me be brutally honest with what's been most frustrating about this pandemic to me. It's not the quarantine ...
