When we read these verses of scripture, it is just like you picked up the morning newspaper and were reading from it. Or it is just like you turned on your television and were watching the evening news. These things are so current and up to date it seems that Paul just sat down and wrote a description of the time in which you and I live.

The last days were the days after Christ until the end of time. However, it seems that what we have here is the last of the last days. There have always been times like this in history. But it seems these times are snowballing the closer we get to the coming of Christ. This world is on a collision course with judgment. Our world is facing moral, social, political, financial, national, and international darkness.

Paul is preparing Timothy for the future. He knows his time is just about up. After instructing him on how he should live and what he should expect, he says ''Know this also...'' He proceeds to give him the characteristics of the last days.

1. HOW THE LAST DAYS ARE PREDICTED

1. They are definite days.

-The last days were from the cross till now. Hebrews 1 says, God has spoken in these last days through His Son.'' We are living in the days of grace. We are living in the days of the open door. However, we may be living in ''latter times'' which is the last of the last days.

-I am not setting a date because even the Son does not know the time He will return. But I can tell you this; there are some definite correlations between the time we live and the characteristics that will be evident when Jesus returns.

-Matthew 24:12, ''Because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.'' The latter times will be times of abounding iniquity.

-So, I think it is sad to say the last days have set in. Have you ever said or heard it said, ''The rain has set in.''? That means it has started raining and it is going to rain for a spell. The last days have ...
