Don't Sweat the Small Stuff and to God It's All Small Stuff
Richard Bradley
Psalm 37:1-8
A book came out some years ago titled ''Don't sweat the small stuff.'' I've never read it but a lot of people have. The jest of the book is that we can ruin our lives by worrying and fretting over small things over which we usually have no control and usually don't amount to much anyway. Sound familiar to anyone? Does to me! So, if we shouldn't worry over the small stuff, what should we worry over? How about the big stuff? A lot of big things are happening in our world today that we ought to at least be concerned about. How about those things! No, David reminded his readers in Psalm 37 that those who serve God shouldn't worry or fret about anything!
That sounds like a better plan to me. It seems, according to Scripture that God is big enough to handle anything and to Him it's all small stuff anyway.
Psalm 37:1-8
1 Do not fret because of evildoers, Nor be envious of the workers of iniquity. 2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, And wither as the green herb. 3 Trust in the Lord, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. 4 Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. 5 Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass. 6 He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, And your justice as the noonday. 7 Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass. 8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; Do not fret - it only causes harm.
GOD'S PEOPLE SHOULDN'T FRET OVER EVIL-DOERS
1 Do not fret because of evildoers, Nor be envious of the workers of iniquity.
Who are these evil-doers? An evil-doer is someone that doesn't know God or at least has no concern for the will of God. There have always been evil-doers in this world and there always will be until th ...
