Galatians 2:20
Introduction
1. I don't go to many movies, but just like the books I read I try to go only to the ones I consider the best ones. I confess that James bond movies are always in the best category for me. I am an action movie kind of guy. Whenever I am asked, ''what are my all-time favorite movies?'' there is one that always makes the list and it is usually right at the top and it is Braveheart. Each time I watch that movie there is a scene where William Wallace says something and the moment he says it, I think to myself, ''that is one of the truest statements ever made.'' you may remember it if you saw the movie [play Braveheart clip - ''every man dies, but not every man truly lives'']. William Wallace was so right. Every man dies, but not every man truly lives.
2. Today, we are talking about the only way to live. We are in a series on the book of Galatians that we have entitled ''free at last.'' the vast majority of people who live, will live and die in slavery and bondage - in bondage to lust, pornography, jealousy, anger, bitterness, pride, arrogance. A man named Paul wrote a letter to a church in a place called Galatia and it was all about how to be free - free from sin, free from self, and free from shame.
3. I truly believe that most people die without ever truly living. Most people experience death without experiencing real life. I believe that because of something Jesus said. He said,
''...I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.''
(john 10:10, niv)
Jesus told the truth that until you meet Jesus, know Jesus, and have Jesus you really don't ever have life. There is only one life worth living. The apostle Paul shares with both believers and unbelievers what that life looks like and why it is the only way to live. [turn to Galatians 2:20]
4. This is one of the first verses I ever memorized when I began reading the bible. Even ...
