like a wise man who built his house upon a rock
EASIER NOT TO LAY FOUNDATIONS BUT NOT WISER.

2. Certainty of DANGER

''Rains and winds came against both houses''
marital, financial, sexual, social, national
YOU WILL NEED A ROCK.

3. Sin of DISOBEDIENCE

The one who ignores God's Word
Jesus is POWERFUL
THE ROCK Jesus is ETERNAL
Jesus is FAITHFUL

The Context - The tax gatherers and sinners were coming to Jesus and the Pharisees were indignant.

The parable explains:

1. God's
(1) knowledge and
(2) ownership of all
(they were sinners)
(they were lost)

2. God's nature of love for all mankind

He searches
He seeks for us and loves us in our present condition.
He rejoices when we repent.
He does not give up.

3. Man's sinful nature and natural condition
We are lost until we find Jesus!
