The story of Abel' s sacrifice to God spans the Bible as a testimony of true faith. As we study Abel's act of sacrificial obedience, we learn some important principles concerning our giving to God. Specifically, there are seven reasons God requires sacrifice in our lives. They are:
NOTE: Before there was organized religion, the law, the Bible or the church, there was a call from God for sacrifice. It is an inescapable part of God's nature and kingdom. Also, the first sin on earth was the sin of trying to take from God what was rightfully His in an act of rebellion and mistrust.

1. SACRIFICE CLARIFIES THE VALUES OF MY LIFE -

2. SACRIFICE CREATES AN ATMOSPHERE OF DIVINE BLESSING AND REVELATION
FROM GOD

3. SACRIFICE CONSUMATES MY VERBAL COMMITMENTS TO GOD
James 2:14-26 (NIV) - What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him? Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to him, ''Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed,'' but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. But someone will say, ''You have faith; I have deeds.'' Show me your faith without deeds, a ...
