In the very beginning of the first marriage relationship, God gave instructions as to how this relationship was to function. Jesus Himself directed the Pharisees’ attention back to these laws (Matthew 19) as they tried to justify their sinful positions on marriage. Again, the Apostle Paul in his letter to the church at Ephesus (Ephesians 5) quoted the same text from Genesis as being authoritative and vital for a strong marriage.
