II Peter 3:1-18

Introduction:
We have just crossed another mile stone!
There aren't many left in this Millenium!
We are one step closer to many things:
A New Millenium
The Coming of the Lord
A New World Order
A Time of Unprecedented Peace
A Time of Great Tribulation.
A New Heavens and a New Earth

This is a time to be reminded of the facts again! Vs. 1
1 Beloved, I now write to you this second epistle (in both of which I stir up your pure minds by way of reminder),

These things have been prophesied over the centuries. Vs. 2
2 that you may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us, the apostles of the Lord and Savior,

There will always be doubters and mockers! Vs. 3 and 4
3 knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts,
4 and saying, "Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation."

People willingly ignore history! Vs. 5-7
5 For this they willfully forget: that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of water and in the water,
6 by which the world that then existed perished, being flooded with water.
7 But the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same word, are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

Illus. New release on Mammoth Lakes in California Seismologists are noticing earthquakes and dome rising on the surface predicting a possible eruption. Residents refuse to accept that!

Certain things are sure! Vs. 8-10
Many people don't believe this!
It doesn't change the facts.
God's Time table and schedule is different that ours!
But God does not forget!
