Binding the Power of the Strong Man

Luke 11:21-26

Introduction:
Jesus was teaching some basic facts of spiritual warfare. He was being accused of casting out Satan by Satanic power. He had just declared in Luke 11:17
17 But He, knowing their thoughts, said to them: "Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and a house divided against a house falls. (NKJ)

He was announcing that the Power of God was the authority that was being used to cast out evil spirits and it was stronger that that of the one called the strong man.

John the Apostle declared in I John 4:4
4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. (NKJ)

You and I do not have to be afraid of Satan's power nor be victimized by it.

John 8:36
36 "Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed. (NKJ)

We need to understand how to live victoriously free from his schemes and tactics.

After we have been cleansed we need to place a guard around our spiritual home so that he has not entrance.

Reason!
25 "And when he comes, he finds it swept and put in order.
26 "Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first."

The Guard is the Word of God
Hosea 4:6
6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. (NKJ)

Word of God brings peace!
Phil 4:7
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. (KJV)

It does not mean that Satan will not endeavor to attack us and bring us again into his bondage.

But if we do the right things we need never be afraid of him nor be victimized by him. We can stand our ground for our families and ourselves!
