The Lord is at hand; 6 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

LET’S PRAY

An exasperated husband asked his wife, “Why are you always worrying when it doesn't do any good?” She quickly piped back, “Oh yes it does! Ninety percent of the things I worry about never happen.”

Well isn’t that just the truth. 90% of the things we worry about never happen. Never happen. So why do we worry about things so much? Worrying makes us anxious. Nervous. Unable to think straight. Unable to make wise decisions. You know how it is. When we worry, when we’re anxious about something, we’re just not ourselves. We are not who God created us to be.

But is that it? Is that all we have to worry about with worry and anxiety? Not really. God did not create our bodies or our minds to worry. Worry negatively affects us as a person including panic attacks, headaches, depression, irritability, breathing problems, fatigue, sleep issues and stomach issues. Anxiety is no joke. It literally hurts our bodies, not just our minds.

It’s no wonder that we are issued the imperative in God’s word to not worry. To not worry about anything. We are commanded to not worry. So if I am to be blunt about it, when we worry, we are disobeying God’s word. And as I’ve mentioned earlier, it’s no wonder that He commanded us not to worry. He created us. He knows us.
