Contentious Christians
Richard Bradley
Jude 3-4
What does the word ''contentious'' mean to you? We often use it to refer to someone that loves to argue. Know anyone like that? Sure you do, you might be one of them. There seems to be no shortage of people today, even in the church, that love a good argument. Nobody likes to have someone point out that they're wrong. More often than not, pride is the main problem with those that are overly contentious.
However, according to Jude, ''contentious'' can also be a good word. In fact, he calls upon his readers to be overtly contentious where the gospel is concerned. I agree. The time for being passive is well past. This is a desperate hour for our country and the church and God's people must step up and contend for the faith.
Jude 3-4
3 Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.
4 For certain men have crept in unnoticed, who long ago were marked out for this condemnation, ungodly men, who turn the grace of our God into lewdness and deny the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ.
Look at what being a contentious Christian means and what we should contend for.

There's only one way to be saved. Many have pointed out that God has no plan B for salvation. Anyone that believes in a plan B is being seriously deluded by the devil. Think about it, if there was another way to be right with God other than through faith in Christ do you really believe the Father would have let His son go to the cross? How strange that anyone would think that?
