Take your Bibles now this evening and be finding your place at Romans chapter 12 Romans chapter 12 beginning in verse number four, while you're finding your place, they were at Romans chapter 12 verse four let, let me ask you a question. Why are you like you are; seriously, why are you like you are?
What makes you unique? What makes you different, distinct from everybody else in this room? Why do you relate to others the way that you do and how can you as a Christian minimize your frustration and maximize your joy? Well, here over the next several weeks, I'm going to try to answer those questions in a simple series of studies that I've entitled ''Unwrapping Your Spiritual Gift: Using Your Gift for God's Glory.'' And what I want to do here over the next eight or so weeks is I want to show you how God has uniquely created you and how God has specifically gifted you to be used in his body. You say, well, pastor, what does God want me to do? Well, there are really as many answers to that question as there are people in this room, and perhaps even more, but the one thing that I do know is that God does not want you to spend your life as a looker.
God's desire is that you live your life as a laborer. Look; the Lord is looking for laborers. As a matter of fact, Jesus said in Matthew 9, the harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore, pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest. Listen; God desperately wants you to get up from the pew and into his field. You know, every now and then I'll have somebody ask me this question: ''Pastor, what is the saddest thing that you see in the ministry?'' I mean, as a preacher, as a pastor, what is the saddest thing that you see in the ministry? Well, there are really a lot of sad things that I see in the ministry. For example, the death of a loved one, or a fami ...
