Today I want to continue the series we kicked off last week, Real Faith, with the book of James. I'm convinced there are many things that go better when they are together. Help me fill in the blank on these.

In our spiritual life there are things that go together, too. I want to talk to you about some of them.
My wife is an identical twin, and her whole life it's been Gena and Ginger. Ginger and Gena. They were college roommates. They majored in the same field of study. They dated guys who were best friends. They are carbon copies.
I tend to think my wife is just a little bit prettier, but I have to be kind of careful where I say it, if you know what I mean. But when Gena's sister visits us, many of the folks in church come up and hug her and start talking to her. ''Hey, call me! How you doing? Great song last week, loved it.'' People actually start talking to her sister, and her sister becomes confused. My brother-in-law is a pastor, too, and when we visit their church, sometimes we have the same kind of thing. It's really funny. So, there's Gena and Ginger. Ginger and Gena. Peanut butter and jelly. Macaroni and cheese.
In the Christian life, the Bible describes faith and works as things that go together. Faith goes with works, and works go with faith.
What is faith? Faith is our unshakeable confidence in the Lord. It's our belief that Jesus Christ died on the cross and rose from the grave on the third day. That's where faith originates. That's where faith begins.
What are works? Works are the good deeds we do. When you help somebody, you do a good deed. You do a good work. When you love somebody, that's works. That's good. In the Christian life, we should constantly be ...
