I want to release the power of worship in your life. I want you to experience the transformative power of worship personally. For so many of you, o much of your time in worship is a ''yawnfest.'' How can Someone so great be worshipped with so little? We need a worship transformation.

Open your Bibles open to 2 Timothy if you will. We continue to examine worship - why do we worship and how can we improve our worship. Worship is about who and what we love more than anything else. Worship is about what we adore and what we delight in.

Holy Habits

A week ago we examined why we sing and today, we turn our focus to the sermon. Singing in worship and listening to a sermon are two of these holy habits, or spiritual disciplines. Both of these will deepen our beliefs into our character. They serve to drive our beliefs deep down inside of us.

Why should you bother listening to a sermon? We spend nearly half of our worship service preaching? Why do we preach and how can we benefit from hearing sermons?

Boring Sermons

Listening to sermons can be really boring. I have heard some boring sermons and I have preached some boring sermons. Even the Apostle Paul put somebody to sleep in one of his sermons and he fell from the 3rd story and he died! The good news for this young man was Paul miraculously brought him back to life (Acts 20:7-13). The bad news for you is that I don't work miracles .

Long Sermons

The Pew Research Center recently analyzed nearly 50,000 sermons posted online by nearly 6,500 churches. Here's what they found out about the length of the sermon: If you want the longest average sermons, then you need to visit a historically black Protestant church because their sermons average around 54 minutes.
