Getting Where We're Going (4 of 5)
Series: Living Proof

John 6:14

I. Introduction

Hey, welcome to Mission Hills, I'm so glad to have you with us today. If you're just joining us, let me catch you up real quick: we are in the midst of a series called Living Proof, where we're looking at seven stories about seven signs that Jesus performed. And they're called ''signs'' because they're more than just miracles...they're living proof of who Jesus is and what he's all about.

Now, we have a lot of ground to cover today, so we need to dive in pretty quick, but before we do that, I want to ask you to ask you an important question: Who do you think Jesus is? Now, some of you might say ''I don't know'' and that's fine...my hope and my prayer for you is that the message today helps you make some progress in answering that question. But some of you may say ''I think he's a great teacher'' or maybe you'd say ''he's a prophet.'' Some of you will go a lot farther than that and you'll say ''He's the son of God'' or ''he's my savior'' or ''he's Lord.'' But just take a moment and ask yourself, ''who do I think Jesus is?'' Here's why it's such an important question: because how we think about Jesus determines how we respond to him.

Ok, the sign we're talking about here is the sign we looked at last week, when Jesus fed over 5,000 people. And because of that sign, the people said ''surely this is the Prophet who is to come into the world.'' Now, that's not bad. There's respect in that. And they didn't just say ...
