April 1st

Gen 16:5 KJV - And Sarai said unto Abram, My wrong [be] upon thee: I have given my maid into thy bosom; and when she saw that she had conceived, I was despised in her eyes: the LORD judge between me and thee.

Gen 16:6 KJV - But Abram said unto Sarai, Behold, thy maid [is] in thy hand; do to her as it pleaseth thee. And when Sarai dealt hardly with her, she fled from her face.

The old expression ''two wrongs don't make a right'' is in play here. At the bidding of Sarah, we find Abraham taking Hagar and fathering a child with her, but once he did that, Sarah is now mad at her husband. Have you ever heard the old adage ''Sometimes you get what you want, but you don't want what you asked for'' this was what had just occurred.

Neither Sarah nor her husband had asked God anything about allowing Hagar to conceive a child for them. Not one time do we read of Abraham praying and asking God if this was in his divine will. After the fact we find Sarah foolishly asking God to discern who was at fault. Both of them were at fault and the least one to be found at fault was Hagar, she merely did what was required of those who were in charge.

Have you ever played the blame game? Well this is what Sarah is now doing, Hagar is now pregnant and Sarah feels inferior due to her barrenness. So Sarah is livid with the situation and someone has to take the brunt of her anger and her inferiority complex.
