Actions Speak Louder Than Words (4 of 14)
Series: James: When Faith Works

James 1:19-27

Intro/Attention

We're studying the book of James on Sunday mornings in a series I'm calling When Faith Works. So far, James has presented two tests of genuine faith. The first was how a believer responds to trials. We see this in verses 2-12. The second test is how a believer responds to temptation. We saw this last week when we studied verses 13-18. Today, James presents a third test of genuine faith: how a believer responds to the truth revealed in the Word of God. We see this in verses 19-27.

All three of these tests will help us determine if our beliefs determine our behavior. James wants us to remember, genuine faith will always lead to godly behavior. And that's exactly what we see in our text today. James wants us to know, Actions Speak Louder Than Words. READ TEXT

When she comes home from work she realizes that there aren't any garbage cans on the curb. She walks in and the garbage is still there... overflowing... stinking up the whole house. Nobody took the trash out! When the kids walk in the door, she calls a family meeting. ''Kids, have a seat on the couch. Let ...
