Galatians 5:19-23 - ''Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, (20) Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, (21) Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. (22) But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, (23) Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.''

The Guinness Book of World Records says it is 10 hours and 5 minutes. Lisa Lester broke the old record of 7 hours and 32 minutes. And then she had to quit smiling.
I want to talk to you about joy that goes beyond a smile. A smile is outward - joy is an inside job. A smile - at its best can last a few hours. Joy is eternal.
We live in a generation that is constantly seeking happiness.
The hit song was entitled - ''Don't Worry -- Be Happy!''
Restaurants advertise ''Happy Hour from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.''
Everybody thinks that's good advice. That's terrible advice. You're not to be happy all the time. You'd get tired of being happy even if you could be happy all the time.
What's the difference between happiness and joy?
Happiness depends on what happens.
If your hap is good - you're happy.
If your hap is bad - you're unhappy.
If you put your trust in happiness, then you will become a victim of circumstance because your happenstance will change. Happiness depends on people - places - and possessions.
Happiness is like cosmetic. Joy is like character.
Happiness comes from outside circumstances. Joy comes from inside or within.
Happiness meets surface needs. Joy meets your deepest needs. ...
